Guatemala City 2025

Guatemala City is a wonderful place to be in February, with an ideal climate of cool nights of 15C and warm days of 25C. The view from our hotel reminds us that there are active volcanoes in this beautiful country. Then as we discovered midweek, earthquakes are also a reality here as we were awakened at 1:00 am to beds shaking and sirens blaring, fortunately not strong enough to cause any significant damage. Our CRU partners in Guatemala took everything in stride and assured us that everything was fine.

Our team of 15 united quickly as we started with an amazing cultural tour on the first day of the historic city of Antigua. On the second day, we jumped right into a heavy schedule of training which included the opportunity for each forum speaker to refine their professional talks and each team member to share and refine their faith stories. As is usually the case, the emotional stories shared drew our team together as we made final preparations for a busy 3-day event schedule.

The Global Exchange to Guatemala was given the designation of “level 3 – transformation”. This designation was connected to the strength and capacity of our CRU partners in Guatemala, who also had a strong presence in two additional cities. We sent three speakers to Quetzaltenango and 2 speakers to Jutiapa. The remaining 10 team members remained in the capital region. At the end of the week, we were reunited at our hotel in Guatemala City for our final “going home” session, and a celebration hosted by the local team.

It was so amazing to hear all the stories of inspiration, impact, and transformation. Our team members shared life-changing experiences and how God used us to bring inspiration and impact to so many people in Guatemala. We give glory to God for many men and women who prayed to receive Jesus for the first time and also many who renewed their personal relationship with Jesus.
